Curious seal pup - Grey seal (halichoerus grypus)

A Grey seal (halichoerus grypus) pup lying in the sand on a little ledge above the beach where the adult seals are visible. The pup is still very young as it is wearing the fluffy bright white fur which, after some weeks it will shed and grow a much more stiff and darker fur that will help insulate against the cold waters of the high seas. Because of the curvature of their mouths, they seem to be smiling all the time. Donna Nook, UK.
