Surprising visitor - Red fox (Vulpes vulpes)

Not exactly the kind of subject I had in mind when visiting one of the white-tailed eagle hides at Hortobágy National Park. But I can’t say I wasn’t happy when this Red fox (Vulpes vulpes) showed up. Gazed in our direction for a short while and then off he went into the great whiteness of the vast Hortobágy plains. Eventually, the eagles came, but that is a totally different story.
