Drying - Atlantic puffin (Fratercula arctica)
Description
Puffin drying wings after a good fishing dive. Puffins' diet consist of fish and zooplankton but chicks are fed with fish – mostly sand eels. To prey, they can dive to depths up to 60 meters and stay underwater for usually 20-30 seconds (although they can stay up to 110 seconds). The modified, elongated beak allows them to catch and hold up to a dozen sand eels at a time.
